I know recently my blog has evolved into covering just sports but during this time of year, sports pretty much consume my life so......the music will take a backseat for now. However, if you are in need of some new bump, checka checka: Dipset gunna, Hell Rell's new mixtape, the return of Mr. Smif and Mr. Wessun on their new LP Reloaded, the Think Differently Compilation feat. a grip of artists, QB affiliate Tradegy Khadafi's Thug Matrix (geek'd out cover and all), Southern legend out that Port A, Bun B's Trill, the always solid Atmosphere's new release, You Can't Imagine How Much Fun Were Having, and finnnnnallly the suprisingly fiya Twista release. That's more than enough music to keep you busy so on to the main course....

Big Ben.....a Longhorns fan?

Week 7 in the NFL has come to an end. The strongest team in the L is the Pittsburgh Steelers, I know Indy this, Indy that, they have D now, blah blah blah, but I still think if these two teams were to meet in the playoffs the Steel Curtain, with a healthy Ben Roethlisberger, would prevail. Jamal Lewis and the Ravens continue their meteroic plunge to the bottom depths with another horrendous performance, this time against the Bears. Rumblings with the org, or so says ESPN Insider, are that mighty Ray Lewis, nagged by injuries, is becoming less vocal and more discontent. Hopefully the situation in the crack capital of the US turns around, not likely against Pittsburgh on MNF this week though. Game of the Week: the Eagles pulling a major one out of their ass at home against the Bolts to stay afloat in the clusterfuck that is the NFC East. Props the Philly D for gettin' it done BIG time against fantasy monster up until this week LT Jr. Other thrillers in Seattle, NY, Minnesota made for quality football this weekend. Player of the Week: LaMont Jordan. 28 carries 122 yards, 3 TDs, 40 yards receiving. Good think I gave him the nod over Jamal Lewis this week. How shit are the NFC North and AFC East? 8 total teams, no winning records. The three best teams are sitting at .500, good news for the Pats and their slow start. BTW, 10-3 against the spreads last week, 9-3-1 on the O/U's. holla.

Mack claps his way into #1.

The Week 2 BCS standing tells me my school is #1 in the country, I think it's shit. The only think #1 equals is a big fucking target on your back every time you step out onto that field. Sure, teams love to beat #2, 3, 4 and all the way up but every team comes out and lays in on the line when they line up against a #1, especially on the road. I don't give a fuck if it's Duke's sorry excuse for a football squad, #1 = targeted like Osama bin Laden. Additionally, this does nothing but fuel an already explosive USC team and puts a chip on the shoulder of a squad that doesn't need one, dogged as "#2" after winning two consecutive National Championships. If I were Reggie Bush I sure as fuck wouldn't be feelin' that. Hopefully USC jumps back over the Horns and reclaims their rightful position as numero uno. For all my Horns fans, say what you want about being number 1 but it doesn't mean shit until the end of the season. Complacency has killed many UT teams in the past. I want to be the best in the country by earning it and I'm sure if you asked any player on the team, they would agree. That means going head to head in Pasedena against the Trojans and earning what we deserve. Heisman Watch: Reggie Bush and Vince Young are way above the rest. Which ever team finishes undefeated, their star will win the award. If both do, fuck.

A regular occurrence for the Astros and Lidge.

Just a quick drop on the World Series. Sox take two games at home and leave the status of the Rocket in question. With Roger and Pettitte, whose team should have gotten him the win, not producing W's for the Stros, serious weight is placed on Oswalt's shoulders in tonight's game. He came through with a dynamite performance the last time on the hill to eliminate the Cards and Houston needs more of the same here. Game 2 goes to show that NL small ball isn't going to cut it. Houston's 4-2 lead going into the 7th needs more run insurance against the White Sox. However, the series travels back to Houston which means, most importantly, a change to the NL rules and elimination of the DH. We'll see how this series plays out but I'm stickin' with Sox in 6.

Cards at home -4 against Titans
McNair is questionable; Titans suck ass, Brown is almost 100% giving them somewhat of a runnning attack....I'm taking the Cards at home against the 20th ranked Tenn. defense. Take the under here as well.

Baltimore +1 in Chi Town
The Sox might be winnin' but the Bears ain't. The Ravens are waaaayyyy overdue, maybe I'm just hangin' on to something that's no longer there but Baltimore needs to show up eventually. Bears have D but with such a small spread I'm takin the Ravens. Under here fo' sho.

Pittsburgh -1 at Cincy
The Bengals are good but Pitt is a tested team with a solid D. Despite the fact the Steel curtain is beat up like some freshman pussy, I'm takin' them with Big Ben at the helm. This will be the best game to watch this weekend, significant testing grounds for the young Natti team. Bet the over here.

Lions +3 in Cleveland
Fuck both of these teams. Give me the Lions with the PTS and the under.

The Pack -1 1/2 on the road against the Vikings
Wow. The NFC North sucks, hard. This should be one of the better games of the weekend due to the fact that both teams have so much to play for. I have to go with B Favre here and the under. The Minnesota players are probably out later than me tonight, and it's a quarter til 4 here.

Indy + 15 1/2 against the Texans in Houston
Houston can't catch a break sportswise, at least they have the rap game on lock. The Stros are gonna catch a bad one from the Sox and the Texans are straight dogshit. I went against Indy last week and it looked good until Bulger went down but Indy got it done with the D last week. The Texans suck, Indy in a blow out. Over here.

Denver +2 in NY against the Giants
Denver is the hottest team in the L behind the Colts, on the road here against an NY team that brought some big time slop against the Boys. Denver gets it done with the O , over here.

Oaktown -3 against the Bills
Fuck the Bills. I have Jordan goin' this week over J Lewis hopefully it pans out. Over as well.

The Bolts + 3 1/2 at Philly
I have to go with the Bolt squad and LT here, they're playin' good ball and they showed they can win on the road when they beat the Pats. Under here.

Dallas +4 at the Hawks
If the Boys D plays like they did against Philly and the Giants expect a cover here. Their O looked sloppy last week with the turnovers and you can't even look for anything in the Seadawgs performance against the Texans. One of the better matchups with two teams still with questions, Over here.

Bulger is sittin' this one out, fuck Jamie Martin. Saints take this one, Under here.

Yo...6-8 last week...pretty weak. On to week 6:

N.O. + 5 1/2 against the Dirty Birds
This is another one dependent upon the status of one Mike Vick. If Ron Mexico plays, even though Schaub had a solid game last week, I think they win. If not I think the Saints play for the "home" crowd and pull this out, esp with the points.

Baltimore -6 against the Browns
Baltimore is overdue......Jamal Lewis has consistently torn the Dogg Pound a new one...hopefully more of the same in this one.

Jets +3 at Buffalo
I like the Jets here. They played decent last week getting their first win against Tampa, Vinny's got some gas left in the tank.

Carolina -1 in Detroit
Carolina's defense isn't going to implode like the Ravens. I'm still high on the Panther's, Steve Smith will continue to be a touchdown machine.

Minnesota +3 on the road in Chicago
Minnesota has had plenty of distractions over the last year but I think they'll get one here. Chicago has the D, Jones is banged up. Viks here.

Titans +3 at home against Cincy
Cincy is good but we'll see how they regroup after taking a tough loss last Sunday night against Jax. The Titans take this one with the home field.

Dallas -3 against the Giants
Which Dallas team is going to show up? The one that came against the Eagles or the sputtering fold they offered against the Skins. Dallas in this one at home the offense will show up.

New England +3 at Denver
Denver is hot. This should be the best game of the week, the best matchup for sure. New England makes a living winning big games; on the road, at home; doesn't matter, look at the game Brady had against Atlanta after the tough loss to San Diego, more of the same here.

KC -6 at home against the Skins
The racist team is wayyyy over hyped, their offense still sucks. I have to pick KC here, they should blast the scalpees.

Jacksonville +3 at home against Steelers
Big Ben is quickly becoming one of the best QB's in the league but he can't help from the sideline. All Maddox has to do here is turn and hand the ball off though. Jacksonville will steal this one.

San Diego - 1 1/2 at Oaktown
Diego took a tough loss on Monday Night at home in the baby blues but should bounce back up the coast against the silver and black. LT should have a big game.

Seattle -9 1/2 against the Texans
The Texans are terrible, this is one of the worst Sunday night games I have ever come across, I usually look forward to watching most of the Sun night game but this one is gonna be tough. This is a dogshit matchup.

Miami +4 at Tampa
The wheels on the Caddy are a little busted so look for Miami to capitalize and steal one on the road here.

St. Louis +13 1/2 on the road in Indy
Pretty good MNF game here. St. Louis can score but Indy's D has been solid, this should be a good test for them.

Picks for Week 5:

Atlanta -2 1/2 over the Pats
Birds at home take this, as long as Vick plays. NE is hungry though, what with the Red Sox biting the dust and their backs up against the wall, if you can say that for week 5, pretty much for the first time in a long time. If Vick plays this will be a fun one to watch, bc the Dirty Birds are that good and NE is hurt, no Vick different story, gotta pick one though.

Miami +3 at Buffalo
Buffalo is bad, their only win came over the Texans.

Carolina -3 over the Cardinals
Carolina has lost two close games to New England and Miami, they should cover here, they are a much better team then the record shows with two 3 point losses.

Chicago +3 at Cleveland
This should be a grinder, the leagues 4th best D goes up against the Pounds 12th ranked Offense. Vice versa with the leagues 3rd worse D bumpin heads with an extremely inept Bears O.

Denver -7 at home against the Skins
Two teams that look good on the outside both being undefeated. The Skins have beat no one; squeaking against the Bears in one of the worst offensive games thus far minus Jets and Ravens games, and beating two severely mediocre teams in Dallas and Seattle. Denver however is playing hot and despite the fact I don't consider them a major contender, they are at home and will steamroll the racist team.

Ravens +1 1/2 on the road in Detroit
The Ravens offense sucks.....hard......Jamal Lewis might as well still be in jail because he aint done shit all year.....hopefully this changes for my fantasy teams sake. The only thing worse than the B More O is the Detroit O and we all know Baltimore can play defense. You're giving me points on this one...fuck....hopefully the D doesn't have to do all the work.

Packers -3 v. San Antonio Saints
Pack start 0-4, Favre tries his best on MNF to salvage a W throwin 4 tds, the Pack return to Lambeau and cover.

Tennessee +3 at the Texans
Carr has been sacked 20 times through 3 games, that's alot of time on your back, fuckin' slut Carr. Texans remain defeated.

Indy -15 at San Fran
This would be a tough one if it wasn't Indy......and the Niners. Manning matches if not exceeds last weeks performance.

Cincy +3 against the Jags
Am I reading this right, I'm getting three points on top of the 3rd rated offense in the NFL......on Sunday night?? I don't give a fuck what the Jags D is in ypg, 3rd, Chad Johnson and Carson Palmer look like Leinhart and Steve Smith.

Philly -3 at Dallas
You wanna see TO carve up the Dallas secondary.....you see the deep ball work when the Cowboys played the Raiders....wait til they line up against the best passing offense in the league.

Seattle +3 on the turf in the StL
This is a tough one to call, one of the tougher of the week in my eyes. The Rams have beat no one and lost to even more no ones. Seattle has the offense and some D deserving a 3-1 record instead of 2-2. What makes this tough is its on the turf in St Louis, we'll see.

Bucs -3 in NY against the J-E-T-S
The Jets have absolutely no offense and I don't see them getting the ball rollin' with the ol' man Vinny at the helm against the best D in the league.

Steelers +3 at San Diego
And finally MNF, this line will most likely change before the game but right now I have to go with the Steelers who add more health to an already tough rushing attack. The Chargers are hot coming off a big win in NE, this should hopefully be the best game of the week, maybe not the most entertaing but the best match up.

This has been floatin' around the Internets for a couple weeks now but it's worthy of my time to push it further to the masses. This song will be huge in about 3 months, as soon as the video shows up on MTV. Pharrell and Chad have the Midas (platinum equivalent if there is one) touch because they are just that good and Gwen is the Pop Princess. Star Trak!

Cage - Shoot Frank feat. Darryl Palumbo prod. by RJD2

Alex the Worm King is back with a new album and has done some serious growin' up (check out HipHopSite for the interview, I would post the link but their site runs weird) since we heard from him last. It's good to see in hip hop something that starts as a rumor actually manifest into something that is as good if not better than expected. What I am speakin' of here is Cage movin' to Def Jux to be under the masterful eye of resident genius El-P. (no homo) I'm glad this didn't end up like another Rakim-Aftermath-Dr. Dre type fiasco. On to the track........this is one of the best songs, if not the best, to come out in 2005. This song has so much emotion and soul in it without seeming like its trying too hard......RJ's beat is flawless, Cage's flow is ridic and this Darryl Palumbo is a perfect compliment to both. The rest of the album, Hell's Winter, is on as well, holla at it.

The Re-Up Gang - Zen

More fiiiiya from the Star Trak camp.....The Clipse have easily been the hardest, realest, best street hip hop to come out in the last 5 years period. Pusha hits the nail on the head when he speaks on it, this is the upper echelon in street hip hop. Add to Pusha and Malice two fiya spitters in Ab-Liva and Sandman and you have shit that I want to listen to a full album of. This beat sounds like a Lil' Kim song from a whiiiiiiile back but this shit is fire, it's about time a quality version of this leaked out. Malice kills it with turn it/turn it/ fire burn it/ gram weight straight like a nigga just permed it. holla. Hopefully they can cut the label bullshit that's been goin' on since Lord Willin' and bless the streets with another joint. In the mean time check what has to be in the top 5 of mixtapes for the year in We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. 2. This is better than the majority of albums that have came out over the last 9 months. Listen to the second verse on Monopoly. Back Grindin'! We ain't no holla back, we holla black.

Fuck Precision Passing

What it is, what it aint? Sure as fuck what it ain't is tight. My brother and I were the first to get our copies of Madden 06 @ local Gamestop. Joinin' us were two chump lookin' fucks, I thought fools like that didn't play Madden cause I sure as fuck would be mad if I lost to one of them. Anyway we threw the new disc straight into the box and began the first game of the season; yours truly as the Ravens, him as affimatis homos Payton Manning and the Colts. Needless to say after Kyle Boller's magnificent 6 INT performance, I am not a fan of the new Precision Passing system. The way this bullshit works is that before the snap or during the play you hold the right trigger and press the button of the reciever desired to shadow with your field of vision. Using the picture above as ref., @ the snap you would key on Heap or right after the snap you would hold R trig and press Y. Now you can throw to any of the other recievers on the field but you are effectively throwing "blind" which means "INT." Maybe I just really suck with it right now, let me know if you have the game and have had any probs, but the system to me seems like shit. Sacks and picks are gonna be through the roof due to the extra time need to press more buttons to execute a pass. The shadow allows the D to "read" the QB's eyes much like regular football giving your rival the chance to either a) play as a safety and follow the play or b? blitz the living fuckin shit out of you and rush to get sacks, incomplete passes or INTs. Now this isn't a problem if you have a QB like Manning or Favre or anyother fag that can see the whole field but Boller isn't your man. To me this pretty much neturalizes the whole threat of the running game. I mean these guys are fuckin' NFL QB's they can hit a guy in the flat even if they are keyed on the wideout streakin on the post route. I'm gonna go play another game and see how it goes. Atleast you can turn this shit off. peace.

Yo suckaz! Lots of things on the radar these days, let's do a little run down......Madden comes out at midnight tonight, like the picture says "Your Life Changes." Who knows maybe my life will change. I could break my thumbs goin' across the middle and have to develop a whole new way of typin', eatin', jackin' off......anyway chances are it won't alter my life that drastically, it's always a momentus occassion when the new Madden is released though. On a related tip, Madden means football season. Mere minutes ago I saw my first touchdown of football season in the Bears Fins game. Ricky looks a little smaller than before his vacation but I still think he'll have solid year. I also saw Jamal Lewis steppin' out of his H2 @ Ravens camp and he looked the size of a Mack truck. I'm sure he's hungry after payin' his debt to society, maybe I'll throw a little NFL and college preview in here in the next couple weeks.
On to some music related biz.....Couple of albums I might review in the next couple days.....DangerDoom, the new Proof, new Deep Dish, Necro, we'll see. So far the Deep Dish sounds real hot and the DangerDoom and Proof sound promising. The Necro album is "porno themed" I guess havin' a bunch of guest spots from creepy, dirty, STD havin' folk. Ras Kass has some new disc droppin' soon I'm gonna try to get my hands on. 50 has a book comin' out tomorrow I'm gonna get my hands on and blaze through......I'll be back with some more heat later. one.

This track is on the hardcore Harlem Bed-Stuy NYC tip. I'm not really sure where Black Rob's been at since Whoa blew up but this is promising. I couldn't find a pic of Black Rob worth postin' so were goin' with the King Frank White himself here. The beat here is straight gully; dark, creep, murder music......Think what this track would be like with Biggie spittin' on it.......I know who killed em.

Proof feat. 50 Cent - Forgive Me
I know this is severly weak in length, fuck KaySlay for cuttin' it off early, but if this is any preview of what Proof, easily the best asset in D12 other than Em and D Porter behind the boards, has in store for his debut, I'll be on the lookout. 50 Cent spit this on a track from way back and it's still fire, why is it that the early 50 stuff GRoDT and prior is so on, check out G Unit God's Plan mixtape if youv'e never heard it.

Az feat. Ghostface and Raekwon - New York
You think googlin' a image of Black Rob is meager try Az, tag Nas on it and you have a better chance. This track is fire, pretty sure it's comin' from the new Az album but I could be wrong. Anything with Raekwon and Ghostface is hard to fuck up. Speakin' of the Cuban Link connection, both are preppin' albums; Rae the 10 yr sequel to Linx. (Here's the article from XXL on the making of the classic, must read for Wu heads) and Ghostface Wu's King of the Underground Mr. Consistent-Every-Album-Fire is preppin' like his 6 release with Def Jam. Good thing I mentioned Az, check the pic with the Doc, surely from the Firm days.

I've been feelin' And Then What for a little while now and I made my disposition toward the Young Jizzle pretty clear on the Boyz N Da Hood review, so as long as the team mannin' the boards is correct this album shouldn't disappoint, let's rumble.

Thug Motivation 101
Props to "Donald Trump in a white T and white One's" for not havin' an intro to this heat rock. Standard Snowman on this track. Solid lead off man.

Standing Ovation
Ayyyy. Ayyyy. Ayyyy. I don't get the ovation 1 track into the album, the first song wasn't that ill. How many rapper's gonna spit the, "favorite rappers, favorite rapper" line? He validates it though with the, "favorite trappers, favorite trapper" line, I'm feelin' that. The horns on the track are fresh as well, chorus is sick, ovation for this.

Gangsta Music
Gun shots. Gun shots. Gun shots. Runnin' @ about a 9.5 on the gully meter for this one. Hot.

Let's Get It/ Sky's the Limit
This sounds like some shit from Scarface, I'm pretty sure it is. This beat is grimey. Another solid trap anthem.

Jeezy, Trick Daddy, and Buck are tight; dunno who this Lil' Will hombre is though, prob one of Jeezy's weed carriers, another good song, so far it's hard to find things to trash about this disc.

This sounds like some other bullshit I've heard from Houston or N.O. Sounds kinda slap happy Ren and Stimpy type shit. Okay, I guess.

Not that Bun B isn't tight, his verse on the What Mean the World to You remix is one of my favorite's, but is it not the cliche thing below the Mason Dixon line to have Bun B on the track to spit the obligatory Free the Pimp line? Not terrible.

Tear It Up (Feat. Lloyd & Slick Pulla)
Nextel taggin' with some freak soundin' bitch. Isn't Lloyd that bird chested (no homo) lookin' ugly fuck that was rollin' with Irv and Co. at one point? This beat sounds pretty much exactly like that track Nas did with R. Kelly. Weak.

Air Forces (Bonus Track)
This is an older track, hence the "bonus" monkier. I've never really understood bonus songs, wtf are they like, "okay you've been a good listener so we're gonna hit you with an extra track we normally wouldn't have put on this." Just put the shit in the middle of the album and have it be another number on the disc, decent.

This disc is solid, nothing classic but some quality trap musik. There are about 5 or 6 records on this that are really fresh. The ones featuring guests are usually go to's, except that trash piece of shit with the raptor lookin' r&b fool, but it's not like Jeezy can't hold his own, Sky's the Limit, Go Crazy, Bottom of the Map, amongst others. Maybe a little too long but that might just be me listenin' to it straight through in one sittin', its not one of those albums. We'll see how big the kid gets off this album, bein' that And Then What is a heater. Ayyyyyy.

I wonder how Detox is gonna work out with the whole 50 and Game drama bullshit. I read that the Game apologized to 50 again probably at the encouragement of Jimmy and Andre. It would be fucked up to see the Game get swept under the rug due to this bullshit, the kid can rap his ass off. Check 300 bars and the 3rd verse of Dreams.

Chamillionaire - Somethin' Like A Pimp
Chamillionaire has always came with heat on the mic, this track makes me hope the Sound of Revenge is on par with all his previous work. Get Ya Mind Correct was way too slept on and it will hopefully get some show now that Houston is the new Atlanta.

Tony Yayo feat. Eminem and Obie Trice - Drama Setter
Tony Yayo might be best suited as 50's hype man but occasionally he shines on the mic. His verse on Toy Soldier was fire. I don't know why his album was pushed back, hopefully not to release the Oliva album, fuck that, but judging by the latest G Unit Radio mixtape, that might be the case. Obie has an album coming before Winter which should be strong. I listened to Cheers through the other day and forgot how suprisingly solid it was. Em is suppossedly hangin' up the mic to strictly work behind the boards. Funny how rappers only have about 2 to 3 albums worth of relavent material, once the money starts comin' in life changes and the hunger is gone. It's better for a rapper to get shot and die because they are immortalized and don't have to worry about the fall off in the quality of their music later in their careers, so Eminem, thug it up and get shot if you really wanna go out. And wtf is Riker's Island Pokemon? I don't know about that one.

Jim Jones - G's Up
This track is produced by the Soul Brother himself, Pete Rock. Jim Jones can't really spit but this beat is a heat rock for sure making it worthy of some listening plus Jimbo is gully as fuck, he's always lookin' rugged in a beater, his hair all nappy and shit, dude probably smells like blunt smoke 24/7, easily one of the gulliest lookin' hoods out these days. How Torrent Works

I got a question on how torrent files work so here's your answer:

In short, it creates "swarms" where 1 person holds the original file(s) (server), while other peers in the swarm simultaneously upload / download from each other (leechers). In the fserve analogy, instead of just the server upload to leechers 1 at a time, the server sends file to multiple leecher, while they upload to others "in queue" at the same time. Kinda like Edonkey's feature of letting peers upload bits of a file before the whole file is complete. But as a swarm is much more simple than any full fledged P2P network, it is also much more efficient.

I didn't write all that bullshit, I took it from the isoHunt forum. All you really need to do is download the program and open the torrent file. It will then ask you where you want to save the file, select the location on your computer and it will begin. Some go quick, some go slower. After its finished downloading you can choose to let it seed, so others can leech off of you and download, or not. Pretty simple.

Boyz N Da Hood consists of 4 gully lookin' motherfuckers from the home of the Braves; Big Gee, Duke, Jody Breeze, and Young Jeezy, who in Atlanta doesn't rap? As far as I know, Jody has put out solo material and Jeezy has an album coming at the end of this month. (The single is out now) Hopefully this is better than Da Band. (Hot fire! Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan)

Album Intro
You know how it is, fuck album intro's. You would expect some, yo welcome to the hood, we're gully as fuck, catch a shell, blah blah blah. This is good though. Diddy talks of course and all the members spit a quick 4 bars. Sounds like some Just Blaze shit. I'd like to hear Nas rap to this. An actual introduction to who the group is, tight.

Boyz N Da Hood Interlude
wtf?! Intro then interlude, what the fuck is that all about? This is word though. Not really an interlude just a short ass song, no chorus. I don't really care for Duke or Gee, Breeze and Jeezy seem to carry the group. Duke's been puttin' in work since Jody Breeze was in Pampers? (no homo) How old is this dude, like 32?

Dem Boyz
The first single. I'm kinda feelin' this. The beat is tight. Jeezy needs "about an hour" to "get himself together", wtf, does this dude wear make up? Diddy should have put his house slipper down after the first two verses. The remix with T.I. and The Game is much better.

Word. This is one of my favorite songs on the album. This beat goes off. Jody Breeze spits a pretty good verse and Jeezy's is tight, big no homo there. The other two suck, they shouldn't be in the group. Plus they look like they're like 15 years older, maybe Duke wasn't playin' about the Pampers shit. See Look. Diddy should have cut those other two chumps out of this group.

Diddy got G-Unit on the phone for some gun noises for the start of this joint. This is on point for sure. The B-list members actually come through with hot verses here. Keep It N' Da Hood 2Nite
At least the album ended on a high note. This is one of the best songs on the album. That 808 drum hits real nice in the Triport's. Jody is the highlite of the song.

For what it is this album is pretty good. Boyz N Da Hood aren't out to change the world, in a good senses that is, or the music industry, like Coldplay, with this album. This is music to increase the crime rate. The group should be cut down to Jody and Jeezy, they would still be able to keep the name. For your daily portion of gully-ness, play this.

Yo, holla back one two, whats good on the eve? This is a decently late post, not as nocturnal as the first couple but my bullshit night ended early. First, I lost money playin bullshit poker, fuck that. Next, word up to the cocksucking doorman takin' my ID up at this weak ass bar, shouldn't have gone there. On to the realness.......Felt 2. I told my boy D-Bo, this is one of a few albums I was lookin' forward to coming out this summer. Felt 1 was bananas. Slug and Murs can rip anything. As long as the production is good on the album, there is no way this can be weak.

Intro
Good funk sample on this. ANT, for the Atmosphere fans, produced all the beats on this album so I would assume he did all the cuts on this track. Pretty good intro compared to the bullshit some cats put on the first track of their discs. Is it me or does it feel like it's necessary to do an intro now...is an album weird if it just gets straight down to business? From punk and funk....that's my whole spectrum...no wonder I feel this shit so hard!

Employees of the Year
Word. These dudes are employees of the year like whoa. On the real, it's like you would roll up to a Micky D'z and see two dudes like Slug and Murs workin' the counter and the grill and they would make the best burger you ever done ate. This shit is fresh as hell. It's so smooth..... "Invite them all over for a mosh pit in my bed" This beat is ill and they switch the flow off as good as any tandem that's out there. Props to the Austin shout out as well. Word to this track, I just turned it up.

Ya Man's An'them
This beat sounds like some shit from a Cage album....they deliver on the funk claim here. Slug's verse comes in hard for real....he's one of the best MC's out there....the highlight of the song, no doubt, he probably wrote the chorus as well. Solid song.

Lisa Interlude
This is a tight interlude, they could have easily used this beat for a song on the album. I was freestylin' to this in the car the other day. Fuck Lisa Bonet though, she reminds me of that bitch in Devil's Advocate.

Morris Day
This song is smooth as well, ANT can produce. All I know about Morris Day is from Jay & Silent Bob which is probably weak but I was probably like 2 when they were poppin'. Slug rhymes his ass off, no homo, on the first verse. Good song.

Dirty Girl
Word. I feel the play on the 50 cent rhyme....I love you like a rap kid loves breaks. Both of these MC's can storytell as well as anyone. The beat is cold chillin' as well...Murs would eat some veggie burgers. My only complaint is the last minute of the song is chorus. I guess the beat kinda breaks down, end the song already.

Early Morning Tony
Whoever early morning Tony is fuck him. Early mornings suck. Whoever likes getting up early should be shot. The intro bars from Slug are fresh...you know the feeling in the morning when you are still in the clouds....word. Word to the shout out to the skateboard og's. This shit is solid. This beat sounds like somethin' else...I don't know what it is I've been tryin' to place it for the last couple days to no avail, fuck it, anyway it's dope. This is the second song about birds. I'm feelin' the Slug verse's, no homo, which is nothing suprising.

I'd assume the songs name comes from the sample in the beat, big creative stretch there. This song is a nothing tight....I don't know about Murs talkin' about just gettin blazed out and chillin' against the wall at parties, no homo for Murs. Slug salvages this song.

Fear and Loathing in Life Vegas
I'm feelin' this song....other than the Gloria Estafan soundin' synth, fuck that shit just bc of that picture. Hard to say anything bad about Vegas, this chorus is tight.

Word. I think this is the best song on the album. The sample that makes the beat is fresh. I'm feelin' the realness in this song and the album on the whole, that's what makes Slug and Murs such great MC's. They aren't any different than anyone else and the shit they rhyme about you can relate to. Slug is on point as usual but Murs holds his own no doubt here. Another song about birds......

Gangster Ass Anthony
I'm not really feelin' this track until they start spittin'. Slug is fuckin' ridicilous....I'm not an asshole, I'm a perfectionist, Travel the globe to have sex with pessimists.....I like the break down when Murs comes in. This track is tight.

The Biggest Lie
More funk on the beat here. This is straight funk beats, punk rock lyrics. This is a fresh song. Sounds like some Atmosphere shit which it pretty much is but still...I'm feelin' this bass line, of sadness. holla.

I Shot A Warhol
This shit is fresh. That bass line is fresh. I have a copy of this Warhol on my wall. There is a little vocal sample in the background....it kinda sounds like R Kelly. Weird but word. Solid once again....wtf would you expect.

This album is exactly what I expected from Slug and Murs. Bring in ANT on the production and it's like no shit, duh. These are two of the strongest artists on the underground scene. Look at all the consistent, quality work Slug and Murs put out. There is no weak point, even the interlude's are good production wise. Best album of the summer so far it would be safe to say, up there with Batman, quality wise.

I'm talking about a shit load for real, like an addict. SAT style: Whitney Houston is to fatty lines of yae what I am to stealing jams. I have a 40 gb pod and there's no room, its like the barrio up in that motherfucker except mp3s, not Mexicans. Another difference is when I want to put new mp3s on, old ones gotta leave; in the barrio they just pile in. Anyway, many albums spend very little time on the pod and are sent to binary heaven on my desktop to be lost within the ungodly amount of music that occupies my 250 gb harddrive. Some never even get a first listen which is sad, I only have so much time. Other stuff, however, has established permanent residence on the pod. Wu Tang, old Kast, Thievery Corp, Alk Trio, Mobb Deep Infamous & HOE, Mike Jackson, Nas, Radiohead, the Grouch, D Punk, Nirvana, shit like that stays cause its classic. So this post is going out to two new inductees...this is old news too not new albums or anything but both are so good and pretty much slept on they deserve some love, no homo on that.

Mylo - Destroy Rock & Roll.
On the real, this is hard to touch, big no homo on that. This isn't a review so I'm not going to break it down track-by-track but this bats 1.000 on the EA. All range of feeling and emotion is covered; laid back and mellow, funky with a groove, hard rhythm, 80's Breakfast Club melody, smooth jazz. I just got my lazy ass of the couch to walk up stairs to get my pod so I could listen to this! You cannot fuck with this album! All these songs are the jam! Listen to Drop the Pressure , Guilty of Love, In My Arms, Zenophile, Ottos Journey, I mean fuck!! You have to be kidding me! The fact that a single person could make an album this good is amazing. This makes me feel like a worthless human being, Mylo does all of this on his computer! All I do is type these worthless posts that no one even reads! I will personally send anyone a copy of this album if they email me, I will take time out of my day to make sure you can hear this. Tell me you know something about music then tell me you don't have this album and I'll tell you to jump in front of a city bus going 65 on the freeway, die.

Peep the remix of Moby's Lift Me Up by Mylo. His Essential Mix goes hard as well. No homo on this whole segment.

Senses Fail - Let It Enfold You
Big time change of pace here but fuck it. This album is Michael Jordan style, straight playing from start to finish. When a band puts something like this together it's dope. There isn't a better feeling then being able to listen to every song and enjoy it, no desire to press fast forward, fuck yeah to that. Just like Mylo they can switch it up and hit you with such a wide range from the musical palatte within their genre and it works so fucking well. Nothing seems out of place; a single guitar or bass strum, drum riff, tempo change, the vocals, they all mesh perfectly. On Irony of Dying on Your Birthday, 2:13 into the song in the bridge when the guitar riff from the beginning comes back in is evidence enough, fuckin' golden. Listen to Choke on This, Irony of Dying, Lady in the Blue Dress, Martini Kiss....listen to the whole fuckin' album. Same deal on this, if you want it email, we'll make it happen.

This is their second album, their first comin in '03 on Fueled by Ramen. This disc sees a bump up to the big leagues with FUCT being pushed by the good people at Island Records. Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued
Fuck this song....Their lawyer should be fired along with a couple of other people for a) changing the name of the song from whatever it was to something so shitty and b) leading the album off with such a pile of trash song. This bullshit reminds me of church for some reason. Not that church is bullshit but that's all I can think of especially at the start.

Of All The Gin Joints In All The World
Word up, magazine. This is what I'm talking about! This was my favorite song on the album for a while, I've gone through 4 or 5 songs being my favorite. This is easily a radio/MTV song, could have been the first single. The chorus is fuckin great along with the bridge. Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh.......

Dance, Dance
Another one of my favorites. Dope ass song, I like the drumming on this one. With two songs like these why the fuck would you put some dogshit like the first song on there?!?

Sugar, We're Going Down
This is the first single or only single if the powers that be so decide which would be terrible due to the fact 4 or 5 other songs are better. I saw this video on MTV2 which is what prompted me to downloa... I mean buy.... the album. I can see why this was picked as the first single, it has a much bigger, epic sound to it than the other songs. Pretty good.

Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner
Not bad...not as good as the last three. Actually, I'm listening to it as I write this, which is how I usually do this deal, and its better than not bad. The chorus is hot, I don't like the song title though, wtf.

I guess. Wtf is with these names reading like War and Peace. The start reminds me of a Smashing Pumpkins song. Fuck this song.

Word. Back to the good shit. This song is Fall Out Boy style. This is another one of my favorites, I like the chorus for sure along with the bridge. Who or wtf is Atavan Halen though? I keep tellin' myself...I keep tellin' myself.....

Sophomore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year
This is the best song on the album. I jammed the shit out of Gin Joints, Dance and Sugar so I never really got this far into the album I usually would just go back and listen to those three again, this however is by far the best song. Better than Sugar, I would have picked this to introduce Fall Out Boy to the commercial world, it should be the second single otherwise someone should be fired. It's so fresh when they start rockin out, we're the therapists pumpin' through your speakers. This better "play on the radio a hundred times a day" like 50 cent says. No homo for the "we're the best boys" lyric however.

Not bad. Better than the last heap of shit track.

This album is solid. It starts strong, flailing a little at the end. When Fall Out Boy does what they do best (Gin Joints, Dance Dance, Sophomore Slump, Slept with FOB) its great music. When they miss, though, they miss hard. A couple of fuck ups keep it from being really good. I fault the record label for putting the shitty tracks on there. Sometimes trying to broaden the musical horizon of an album fucks it up. If you are exceptional at one type of sound, make the whole fucking album that way, Coldplay doesn't seem to have problems selling records this way. Despite this, FUCT will get serious pod-play over the summer. I won't miss them when they come through on Warped as well. Do your self a favor and cop the album.

I'm going to start doing a batting average type joint for every album I review. I will treat it just like baseball, each track representing an "at bat", good tracks counting as a "hit." The higher the EA (evade average), obviously, the better the album.

I don't know about yall but Wu-Tang definitely holds shit down, I'm a G-Unit fan but they are pretty much a carebare patrol in toughness and brains compared to the Clan. The Clan lamps in the 36 Chambers, Fiddy ills at the candy shop. Ghostface was always my favorite. Ironman is top 10 of all time in my collection. Raekwon was a close second. The two together were untouchable, inventors of a style that still has it grips on hip-hop/rap music. To touch on the topic that robbie hits on, look at the crew of weed carriers Ghostface has amassed for him in the Theodore Unit. These definitely scores of heads that would carry for either Tony or Lex. Cappa had to have carried a sticky sack of herb and thick stash of phillys for Ghost and Rae which got him serious mic time on Ironman, appearances on significant Wu tracks, Ice Cream and Triumph, and a gang of beats for his solo album from a buncha producer carriers of Rza's. Anyway, Rza has written the obligatory book that people either choose to do a) in the middle of their career when popularity is at its highest and a piece of corn from their shit would sell if branded; Wu-Tang milked this method with many things : Wu-Wear, the video game ( a strategy 50 is jackin to satisfy his ego) and other licensed items or b) wait until you've pretty much made your creep to the back scenes of the entertainment world (scoring films) and write a manual so all of us can get weed carriers to enlist be our chronic sherpas. I read this book in a straight sitting in about 2 hours, the day I bought it. If you like the Wu, pick it up. I'm going to re-read it at somepoint and post.

Here is one of those artists thats not really in my wheelhouse but gets downloaded to supply the fixes of friends who jam this stuff. Now this is not to say that this is bad music and like all music there is probably a time and a place for this but, fuck! This guy is about as multifaceted as my asshole, which performs a single function. While versatility is lacking, ol' boy Jack excels at acoustic, string slappin', pillow-talkin', fuzzy, Snuggle fabric softener soundin' shit. Check out bangers such as this, "our dreams/ and they are made out of real things/like a shoe box of photographs/ with sepia tone lovin." holy shit! Give me my childhood blanket and a lush, green hill to roll around on and make dandelion crowns! Thanks Jack for not putting me to sleep but inspiring me to post at 5 in the morning! Alkaline Trio - Crimson Album Review

So you know i have to get down with an Alky Trio review for the first post. I've been jammin the treacherous three (no homo) since high school and if you have never heard of them.....wake the fuck up. This is the sixth studio album and its fo sho a new direction for the sound of the band (no homo). They got with some new bro (no homo) producing the album and the sound is much cleaner. You can really check the difference out if you listen to the different versions of Sadie, the one off Crimson and the other from some six song EP i copped off iTunes, listen to the bass and the sample of the chick talking. holla.

Time to Waste
Case and point less than 2 seconds into the new album, how many other tracks of theirs have any sort of instrument other than guitar, bass, and drums? It's tight though, goes right into the lead guitar rippin the shit out of the track Trio style. Skiba comes through and spits some fire (no homo) on the verse and chorus. This is the first single. Good choice to showcase the new sound but not too far off the beaten path.

Poison
This song is much more classic Trio sound. Dan Adriano rips up the vocals fo sho (no homo) and the guitar tears sound sick. His voice and style is a great contrast to Skiba's (no homo) and this is def a solid track.

Burn
This is the song I would pick for the second single. This sounds so completely non-Alky style, it would cross over and bang on the radio fo def. The chorus and the breakdown are sick. This song has been on constant repeat since I copped this joint, play this shit on the radio!

Mercy Me
Classic trio again, solid.

Death Bed
Another banger here, I like how the intro goes into the verse with the bass drum slammin' and then Dan comes into contrast with some backup vocals. Calling all cars, we're 5 for 5 so far.

Stained in Satin
Great use of both vocalists, this jams.

Sadie
I've already kinda talked about this track. I think I read somewhere its about some crazy Manson bitch or something, don't know, it's good though. Much cleaner than the other version, still not sure which version is better yet. I learned this riff on guitar real quick, it sounds real good. I actually just played the other version and think I like that better.

Fall Victim
Solid, nothing to fast forward through on a full listen but nothing to playlist.

I Was A Prayer
Same as above.

Prevent This Tragedy
Maybe this was the song about the Manson crazy bitch, I know there is some story and significance behind this track as well. Another example of the "new" sound, listen to the synthetic drum clap type shit around 30 seconds in, still a legit song.

Back to Hell
This is wtf I'm talking about! This is Alkaline Trio; hard riffs, slammin drums, and dank lyrics. The chorus on this song is the best part. Once again, how fresh are the two contrasting vocalists? Like the pills in your head, Alk trio never lets you down!

Your Neck
See Victim and Prayer. Piano in the verse, wtf!?

Smoke
New sound, new sound, new sound. Strings in the bridge?! Sounds good though, I don't know who I like on the mic more, skiba or dan (no homo). Good shit.

It's hard for Alkaline Trio to make a bad album. This is another one of their discs you can put in and pretty much listen straight through. I've missed them about the last six times they've been in Austin, Denver or Boulder, so I'm gonna catch these fuckers this tour (no homo). ttp - Burn, Death Bed, Back to Hell. As you can see from by ttp's (tracks to playlist) I lean toward the old classic sound; it's much more punk. This album, however, has the cross over appeal that none of the previous have enjoyed (if that's what your looking for) and if pushed right could blow the trio up. no homo. holla.
